Central High School Lady Raider senior Alaina Lusk smacked a two-RBI single in the sixth inning and Brianna Jones struck out 10 in the circle en route to a 7-0 win over Cookeville in the winner’s bracket finals of the District 6-AAA tournament in Cookeville Tuesday night.
The win puts CHS in the district title game at 5 p.m. Thursday night in Cookeville and guarantees a trip to the Region 3-AAA semi-finals Monday. A win in the championship game Thursday would mean a home game in the region Monday. If they lose (twice) then they will travel on Monday to the Chattanooga area.
Coffee County (25-8 overall) will need to win Monday and next Friday in the state sectional game to advance to the TSSAA Spring Fling State Tournament in Murfreesboro for the second year in a row. Both games are single elimination.
