Longtime educator and administrator Joey Vaughn has been selected as the new principal at Coffee County Central High School.
Vaughn replaces John Bush, who is finishing out the school year after announcing his resignation after two years on the job last month.
“I am honored to have been chosen to work with students, families, staff and faculty at Coffee County High School,” Vaughn told the Manchester Times. “It is a tremendous opportunity. The expectations for that school are tremendous and I’m looking forward to working with everyone involved.”
Vaughn has spent the past six year with the Manchester City School System as the Director of Instruction at the system’s central office. Prior to that he served as principal at Coffee County Middle School. He begins his new post officially on July 1.
“One of the first things I’ll do is meet with faculty to communicate what our goals and expectations are. I want to get to know them. There are great things going on there and we want to add to those.
“I am looking forward, specifically, to getting to know the students and the great things they are doing.”
