J.D. Douglas is new CHS boys basketball coach

The following announcement was released Monday by Central High School athletic director, Richard Skipper.

Coffee County Central High School has hired J.D. Douglas as our new Head Boys Basketball Coach. We are excited to have Coach Douglas come in to lead our program to the next level.

We are excited about the knowledge and energy that Coach Douglas brings to our coaching family. Coach Douglas comes to us from West Greene High School where he has been the head coach for the past 2 years. Prior to West Greene, Coach Douglas was an assistant at Lebanon High school and Riverdale High School. He also served as assistant coach at Lindsey Wilson College from 2005 to 2007.

Coach Douglas played at Jackson State Community College for 2 years and then transferred to MTSU to play basketball for the blue raiders. While at MTSU he received his bachelors and Master’s degree.

Coach Douglas was introduced to the boys Monday at 1pm. He has called a parent meeting for 6:00pm on Tuesday afternoon. Parent’s for all aged players are expected to attend. The media is welcome to come out and meet him.
