Ginny Clayborne and Ashlyn Young, both 2013 Central High School graduates, signed scholarship papers Monday night to play softball at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin.
Clayborne, who played shortstop for the Lady Raiders last season, led the team in batting and was named District 6-AAA offensive most valuable player. She earned numerous honors in both basketball and softball during her time at Coffee County Central High School and was selected by CHS coaches as the Mancheter Times female athlete of the year for 2012.
Young was starting catcher for the Lady Raiders in 2013. Along with Clayborne, she led the team in doubles with 13. She also knocked in 20 runs and had 13 sacrifice hits. She was selected this season as an all-star by the Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association.
