SEAA Youth Slowpitch World Series starts Friday in Manchester
Beginning Friday morning Manchester will be host to the Sporting Events Association of America’s Youth Slowpitch World Series at Dave King Park.
Several local squads will be among 35 youth teams competing in seven divisions from 6U to 23U. The tournament is scheduled to conclude Saturday, but with the National Weather Service predicting a 50-percent chance of rain that day, some games may be played on Sunday. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
The tournament was originally set for July 5 and 6 but was rescheduled due to heavy rains. According to organizer Norman Cooper, the postponement caused some teams to cancel plans to attend but allowed others to do so.
Full schedules and other public information on this weekend’s tournament are being offered on the tournament’s Facebook page.
