After a 4-2 loss to defending champions Giles County in the first round of the Babe Ruth state baseball tournament, the Manchester all-stars battled back over 18 grueling innings Saturday to keep their state championship hopes alive.
Playing Franklin County in the loser’s bracket Saturday afternoon, Manchester squeezed out a 5-4 win in 11 innings. After a short rest, the team went on defeat play Putnam County 9-6.
Sunday’s game was postponed due to rain. Manchester is now scheduled to play Marshall County at 6:30 in Lawrenceburg. Check back here game scores and bracket updates.
