Manchester’s Haddon Motors catches fire twice

Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department firefighters have responded to Haddon Motors, which is located just outside the Manchester City Limits on U.S. 41, twice in the past three days.

Firefighters responded at 2 a.m. Tuesday to find the office building of the used-car dealership on fire. They were able to contain the fire and limit damage to less than half of the building, according to Aaron Brown with Hillsboro VFD. But when firefighters were dispatched again at 12:58 a.m. Thursday they found the building fully engulfed in flames.

“Tuesday we were able to limit the damage with an aggressive interior attack, we got firefighters inside the building,” said Brown. “But [Thursday] it was too far gone. The roof had collapsed [when we arrived] and we did an exterior attack.”

Business operator John Constantine is currently running the business out of the repair shop.
