The Central High School volleyball squad had another shot at the district-leading Columbia Lions Tuesday, but again Columbia beat the Lady Raiders in straight sets.
Coffee County, sittnig second behind the Lions in District 8-AAA, hosted Columbia at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym. The Lady Raiders were hoping to even the score after falling in straight sets at Columbia last month. The result, however, was essentially no different from the two teams’ first meeting.
This time Columbia, ranked seventh overall in the state, won 26-16, 26-15 and 25-12. The win was Columbia’s 108th straight in district play.
CHS is now 12-12 on the season and 4-2 in the district. The Lady Raiders will be on the road for another district match Thursday as they take on the Lady Falcons at Lincoln County. In their first meeting Coffee County won in straight sets.
