The Central High School Lady Raiders golf team swept the top three individual slots in regional competition Monday to earn CHS’s first-ever trip to the state golf tournament as a team. For the boys Matt Johnson won the opportunity to compete next week as an individual in the state tournament.
Coach Mike Ray said winning a berth at the state tournament is the culmination of a goal the girls set for themselves at the beginning of the season.
“We’re just excited, and we’re ready to go out there, lay it out on the line, have a little fun and do our best,” Ray said.
Johnson and the CHS girls will play a practice round at WillowBrook Monday, Oct. 7. The state tournament will be played Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 8-9.
