Tullahoma police investigate fatal shooting
Investigators with the Tullahoma Police Department are currently investigating a shooting that left one dead and one injured.
At approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Tullahoma Police Department responded to a call of gunshots at a duplex at 512 West Grundy Street in Tullahoma.
Upon arrival officers found seventeen year old Austin Ferrell unresponsive on the porch with an apparent gunshot wound. Also in the yard was 38 year old George Clay Taylor who was also suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers questioned the alleged shooter, 73 year old Nicholas Dipietrantonio as well as fifty year old Debra NG. Ferrell and Taylor were transported to Harton Regional Medical Center. At the Hospital, Austin Ferrell was pronounced dead and George Taylor was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he is in stable condition.
Investigator LT Jason Ferrell (no relation to Austin Ferrell), Investigator Sgt. Dale Stone and Investigator Tyler Hatfield processed the scene. Investigator Harry Conway, Rana Pawlowski and District Attorney’s Investigator Billy Cook transported Dipietrantonio and NG to the Tullahoma Police Department where their statements were taken.
At this time no arrest have been made; this in an ongoing investigation by the Tullahoma Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office. Investigators are still taking statements and collecting evidence.
