The Rockets beat the previously undefeated Patriots last Thursday in overtime at Manchester to finish the regular season 8-0. This time they took the lead early in the fourth quarter and held on to win in regulation.

After a scoreless first half, Liberty put points on the board first as David Trisdale carried the ball for long yardage and a touchdown with 7:20 to go in the third quarter.  Westwood answered with a touchdown of its own later in the quarter as Austin Harmon made a 35-yard run into the end zone to tie the game.

In the fourth quarter Brent Moon carried the ball 60 yards for the game-winning touchdown.

The Rockets were forced to compete without fullback Grant Chambers, who was sidelined with a leg injury.

This year’s football squad was the first in Westwood history to go 9-0, according to head coach Chad Dyer.
