CHS hopes to have football coach by Christmas break

The search for a new head football coach at Central High School is well underway.

While the coaching search has only been going on for roughly three weeks, CHS athletic director Richard Skipper says they hope to have a new coach hired before Christmas Break.

“When we come back from Thanksgiving break, we will do interviews the early part of that week. We feel like we can name a coach before Christmas break.”

The Raiders are looking for a new coach following Lee Davis’ resignation at the conclusion of the season on Nov. 4. The coaching search is the third for the school the past six years.

Skipper said almost 100 people applied for the job but after conducting phone interviews and weeding through the applications the initial breakdown left school officials with a list of 12 to 15 applicants. ….
