WALKER

Walker, Roy Eugene, Jr., age 53 of Summitville, Tennessee, passed away on December 1, 2013. Roy was of the Baptist Faith and liked to work on lawn mow-ers and collect die cast model cars. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Walker, Sr.; and grandparents, Ray-mond Dee Lamb and Willie Mae Lamb. Roy is survived by his mother, Jessie M. Lamb Rigney and step-father, James C. Rigney of Summitville, TN; brother, Elvis E. Lamb and his wife Linda of Rock Island, Tenn.; special aunt, Audrey Mae Clemmons of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Reverend  Kenneth Kirby officiating. Burial will be at the Shady Grove Cemetery. MILLER

Mr. John A. Miller, age 82, of Normandy, passed away Thursday, November 28 at Autumn Oaks in Manchester. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec 2, 2013 at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elbert Smith officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 1 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. A native of Normandy, he was the son of the late Houston Gordon and Ethel Davis Miller. He was a U S Army veteran and worked at Eaton Truck and Transmission. He attended First Church of the Nazarene of Tullahoma. He enjoyed riding horses and watching old western mov-ies and TV shows. In addi-tion to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Ruth Miller, one brother, Leon Miller and one sister Beatrice Rackler. He is survived by one son, Donnie Miller and his wife, Dinah of Normandy; one daughter, Jennifer Davidson of Palmersville, Tenn.; two sisters, Lucille Haddan and Betty Steele, both of Tullahoma and two grandchildren, Mitsy Coffelt and her husband, John of Tullahoma and Donna Winfrey of Marietta, Ga.. NEWMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Shelton Newman, age 62, of Manchester, were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Riley Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Duckworth officiating. Visitation with the family was from 4-8 p.m., Sunday at Manchester Funeral Home. Burial followed in the New Redden’s Cemetery.  Mrs. Newman fought Multiple Sclerosis for many years, however she passed away unexpectedly Friday evening at Vanderbilt Hospital. Mrs. Newman was born in Manchester, Tennessee the daughter of the late Porter and Evelyn Norton Shelton. She worked at PCA in Manchester and was a member of the Riley Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Newman enjoyed being outdoors, country living, watching the old shows such as Andy Griffith, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and attending church, but the love of her was being with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Shelton. She is survived by: her loving husband of 38 years, Donald Newman of Manchester; one daughter, Christy (Kenny) Baker of Manchester; two sons, Jamie (Sara) Newman and Matthew (Amanda) Newman, both of Manchester; one sister, Mrs. Fay (Ron) Fletcher of Fayetteville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Ava Newman, Abby Newman, Adele Newman, Porter Newman and Thomas Baker. CARROLL

Mrs. Quixie F. Carroll, 93, formerly of Manchester, died November 29, 2013. She was born in Cannon County on August 24, 1920. Her parents were the late Bill Milligan and Nannie (Vandygriff) Milligan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dixie Carroll; brothers, Brown Milligan and Billy Milligan; sisters, Sammye Tenpenny and Rachel Hillstrom. She is survived by a daughter, Joan and David George of Bradyville; three sons, Bob Carroll of Cocoa, Fla., Roy and Joni Carroll of Hillsboro and Rick and Sok Sun Carroll of Shelbyville; brothers, Jack Milligan of McMinnville and Jimmy and Shirley Milligan of Port St. John, Fla.; sisters, Margie Lorance of Charlotte, N.C., Betty Billings of McMinnville, Shirley and Kenneth Tate of Merritt Island, Fla., Helon and Boyd Gentry of Woodbury; grandchildren, Micheal and Beth George of Bradyville, Kevin and Katina George of Bradyville, Doug and Rachel Carroll of Hillsboro, Terry & Kim Carroll of Manchester, Christina Snow of Cocoa, Fla., Truman and Jennifer Carroll of Fayetteville, Justin and Malou Carroll of Huntsville, Ala., Clarissa and Jason Gentry of Cookeville, Steven and Katherine Carroll of Huntsville, Ala. and Stacey Carroll of Nashville; also, survived by eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Carroll was a former member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and current member of the Leoni Church of Christ. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at the Coffee County Junior High. She was born and raised in Cannon County. Graduated from Woodbury Central High School. Growing up in a large close knit family, they worked hard together but still knew how to have fun. She met her husband Dixie, fell in love and shared 55 years together. Anywhere he was she wanted to be. They enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors together. Wherever they were she made sure there was plenty to eat. She loved cooking for them and just being there. Playing rummy was a hobby she enjoyed and she wouldn’t let you win, even if you were family. She was a patient, kind and loving person. The family all knew she couldn’t be still for long, she loved to be busy all the time. She was devoted to her husband and family. One of her greatest joys were family get-togethers when everyone could come to eat and visit. Visitation was at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Funeral services were Sunday, December 1, 2013 in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Garland Robinson officiated. Interment was in Leoni Cemetery. TURNER

Turner, Iva  Nell  Allison, age 78 of Hartselle, Alabama and former Coffee County area resident, passed away on November 26, 2013 at the Huntsville Hospital in Alabama. She attended the Hartselle Church of Christ in Alabama after moving to Alabama and was a former member of the Red Hill Church of Christ in Manchester, Tenn. before moving to Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Frank Allison and Carrie A. Duncan Allison; sisters, Ann Walls and Rose Odean; and brothers, Alvin Allison, Gordon Allison, Carlton “Bill” Allison, James Allison and Duncan Allison. Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, Leonard K. Turner of Falkville, Ala.; four children, Larry K. Turner (Deborah) of California, Raymond H. Turner of Fla., Charlotte D. Cochran (Thomas) of Ala. and Jack D. Turner (Di-anne) of Ill.; brother, Robert Allison (Gladys) of Ind.; seven grandchildren, Adam Cochran, Alex Cochran, Tristan Turner, Troy Turner, Devin Turner, Nicholas Turner and Carrie Cochran Venable; three great-grandchildren, Jay Cochran, Logan Venable and Riley Turner; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Novem-ber 30, 2013. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2013 from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Hart officiat-ing.
