According to the THP report, Myers was traveling eastbound, crossed over the left lane into the right lane and struck the rear of Nabra’s truck. Myers’ car then traveled under the trailer of the truck.

The crash took place at approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday and resulted in the left lane being closed until 8:30 a.m. while troopers took measurements and emergency personnel cleaned the area. According to reports, debris from the wreckage stretched along the road for a half mile.

Myers was an active athlete in his time at Central High School. He played on the Red Raider baseball team for four years and was part of a senior class that led the Raiders to a state sectional trip. He was also a member of the football team at CHS.

“William was one of those people that … all who knew him were lucky to come across him in this life’s journey,” said former Central High School baseball coach Chase Jones, who coached Myers at CHS. “He had the soul of a saint and the heart of a lion. I will forever be thankful he came into my life.

“He will be loved and remembered by so many people in this community and beyond. I am heartbroken and saddened he has left this earth but I take great comfort in knowing that I will see him again someday.”

Visitation for Myers will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Central Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday and burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
