A Manchester man has been arrested after being indicted by the Coffee County grand jury for rape.
Donald Raymond Brewer, 24, of Park Motel, was arrested Saturday and booked into the Coffee County Jail on a charge of rape. He is being held under a $50,000 bond.
According to police, Brewer allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at a residence on Waite Street in Manchester. The alleged incident occurred in October 2013.
According to Manchester Police Department Investigator Butch Stewart, the girl was spending the night with another girl on Waite Street and had gone to a nearby convenience store to get a soft drink. According to the investigator, when the girl returned to the residence Brewer allegedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground. He allegedly tore off her underwear and raped her.
Brewer is to appear in Coffee County Circuit Court on Jan. 29 for arraignment.
