Enough snow fell on Coffee County to give school children and teachers the day off Thursday but, for the most part, missed the mark of the National Weather Service forecast for 2-4 inches of snow in the area.

Manchester received approximately a half-inch of snow with localized areas receiving a bit more. It was enough for area kids to be out early Thursday morning sledding down whatever hills they could find.
