Raiders drop district game to Columbia
Kyle Douglas tries to pick-off a Columbia runner Tuesday night.
The CHS baseball team couldn’t generate enough offense Tuesday night against District 8-AAA’s top team, falling to Columbia 6-2 at Powers Field.
Despite cranking out 12 hits, the Raiders left multiple runners stranded in scoring position throughout the game.
The Lions jumped out to a 2-1 lead early before Trace Fiedlein scored on a Kyle Douglas blooper to tie the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lions added one run in the sixth and three more in the seventh for the final tally.
Kyle Douglas took the loss for the Raiders pitching into the seventh inning before being relieved by Dallas Bryan.
CHS will travel to Columbia today (Wednesday) for a 4 p.m. game.
