A three-vehicle crash left two people dead and two others injured Saturday
afternoon on State Route 53 (Woodbury Highway) near Green’s Bestway.
Dead are Mallory Roberts, 56, of Hayfield Square, Manchester, and Larry Davis, 61, of Bradyville. Barbara Davis, 59, was airlifted from the scene by Lifeflight and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Dustin Kindred, 23, was transported to Medical Center of Manchester.
According to a report filed by Tennessee State Trooper Gavin Sullivan, a 1996 Ford van being operated by Barbara Davis, Jim Cummings Highway, Bradyville, was traveling North on Highway 53 when a 1999 Ford Escort operated by Kindred, of Crestwood Drive, Tullahoma, hit the van in the rear. The van spun around and crossed into the southbound lane where it was struck by a 1989 Nissan Sentra driven by Roberts.
Roberts’ Sentra rolled and Davis’ vehicle landed on the passenger side. Larry Davis and Roberts were pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.
