Coffee County Central High School fell in the District 6-AAA championship game 3-0 to the Cookeville Lady Cavaliers Tuesday night in Sparta.
Coffee County lost the first three games in the best-of-five match – falling 25-16, 25-14 and 25-18.
The loss means Coffee County will travel in the Region 3-AAA tournament next week in an elimination match.
Haley Banks and Brooke Carter were named District 6-AAA All-District. Beth Kinser, who had three kills and three blocks against Cookeville, was named to the second team.
A win would have given the volleyball team its first district championship since 2007 when the Lady Raiders beat Lincoln County in the old District 8-AAA. The Lady Raiders defeated Warren County 3-2 to advance to the title tilt.
