Angela Christine Hulsey, 46
Angela Christine Hulsey, age 46, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn., following an extended illness. Miss. Hulsey was disabled. Her family lost their little angel that was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph and Christine Hulsey, and a brother, Jerry Hulsey. She is survived by her brothers; Billy Hulsey and Dwight Hulsey both of Tullahoma, Bobby (Beverly) Hulsey of Manchester, Tenn., sisters; Joann Hulsey and Brenda Bailey both of Tullahoma, Carla Hulsey of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Ginger Hulsey of Ardmore, Tenn. Visitation for Miss. Hulsey was scheduled for 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Friday evening, November 2, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with the service following at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Harrell T. Hunt, 94
HUNT, Harrell T., age 94 of Smyrna, Tennessee and former Manchester area resident, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Mayfield Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna. He was a retired Store Manager for the H.G. Hill Food Stores. Born in Coffee County, TN to his parents, the late Thomas Hunt and Melvina Crosslin Hunt, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mary Rowland Hunt and grandson, Jeffrey Burks. He is survived by his daughter, Freeda J. Barker of Smyrna, TN; son, Gene Hunt and his wife Evelyn of Antioch, TN; two grandchildren, Dana L. Campbell of Smyrna, TN and Travis Hunt of Fairview, TN; four great-grandchildren, Michael Barker, Jacob, Brandon & Kaleigh Campbell; and one great-great-grandchild, Aubree Barker; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home. Jesse Lee Bowman, 81
Mr. Jesse Lee Bowman, age 81 of Manchester, TN, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 5:55 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY. Born February 14, 193,1he was a Heavy Equipment Operator for SKW Alloys in Calvert City, KY. He was a Guitarist and Bassist for the Cache River Band.He honorably served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the VFW and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was the son of the late Ludd Bowman and the late Ever (Barnes) Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Georgie DeLoyce (Taylor) Bowman of Calvert City, Ky., two daughters, Kaye Story of Calvert City, KY., and Janice Flood of Murray, KY., one step-daughter, Susan Boyles of Shelbyville, TN., one son, Ray Bowman of Murray, KY., five grandchildren; Donald Ray Bowman and Amanda Kay Bowman both of Atlanta, GA., Stephaine Smith of Paducah, KY., Todd Horn of Calvert City, KY., Matthew Horn of Detroit, MI., and three step-grandchildren; Ambi Shelton of Normandy, TN., Jason Broadrick of Manchester, TN., Stephanie Williams of Manchester, TN., and eight great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. One sister, Betty Stevenson of Benton, KY also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Watkins. Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY Funeral services were Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Bill McCormick will officiating. Interment with military honors followed on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fredonia Cemetery, Manchester, TN. Friends visited with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
John Franklin Tucker, 46
John Franklin Tucker, age 46 of Winchester passed away October 18, 2012. To his many friends he was known as “Little John” and to his trucking buddies as “2 x 4”. A native of Franklin County, John was a free spirited and giving person. He never met a “stranger” and was quick to help anyone in need. John was active in the sport of Karate, winning 1st place in the Kentucky State Tournament. He achieved the brown belt by the age of twelve. John began a career in trucking following graduation from Franklin County High School in 1985. He most recently worked for Three Rivers Trucking in Shelbyville. He was a member of Alto United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Frankie Keller; paternal grandfather, Frank Tucker. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Tucker Noah of Greeley, CO.; mother and step-father, Sue and Roy B. Watson of Winchester; father, Charles Lynn Tucker of Winchester; sisters, Terri Tucker of Murfreesboro and Karri (Tony) Patton of Winchester; step-brother, Ben (Donna) Watson of Winchester; niece, Anrae (Marty) Finney of Decherd; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service was conducted October 21, 2012 from the Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Ikard Family Cemetery. Currently, plans for a foundation, “A Good Friend” are being made in John’s memory. This foundation will benefit people with needs.
Wilson Ashby, 71
Anthony “Tony” Wilson Ashby, age 71, of Estill Springs, Tenn. Departed this life on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. following a brief illness. Mr. Ashby was a 1959 graduate of Franklin County High School. He was retired from M-Tec, in Manchester, Tenn. where he was employed as a shipping supervisor. Mr. Ashby was of the Church of Christ faith. Mr. Ashby’s hobbies included, woodworking, fishing, and watching sports. His favorite place to travel was the families beach house at St. Joe Beach, Fla. Mr. Ashby was preceded in death by his parents; Radie Hayes Ashby and Woodrow Wilson Ashby. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred Uselton Ashby, they were married on October 1, 1960. Carrol E. “Pete” Peters, 76
Carroll E. “Pete” Peters, age 76, of Manchester, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was born January 19, 1936 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of the late Earl Edwin Peters and Esther Elizabeth Klatt Peters. Pete grew up in Quincy, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois where he received both his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in mechanical engineering. He then attended the Free University of Brussels (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) in Belgium where he earned his Doctorate of Science degree in applied science. Pete was employed at Arnold Engineering and Development Center for 23 years prior to becoming a professor at University of Tennessee Space Institute in Tullahoma for 19 years until his retirement in 2000. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilyn P. Rollins Peters of Manchester; son, Matthew Peters and wife, Kathy Pinnell of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Ami E. Peters Bird of Manchester; four grandchildren, Katrina M. Peters of Nashville, TN, Adam E. Lucas and wife, Brooke Winsett Lucas of Somerville, TN, Erik C. Peters of Fort Collins, CO, and Kerry B. Peters of Fort Collins, CO; “special daughter,” Tammy G. Duncan of Manchester; and beloved, faithful companion, Tiger the Golden Retriever of Noah, TN. Glenda Kay Shelton, age 59, of Wartrace, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on October 29, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn. Mrs. Shelton was born in McMinnville, Tenn. to the later Herchel Glenn and Hazel Kay Campbell Brady. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Richard Tate and Grady Tate. She is survived by her husband, Marcie R.
