Funeral services for Mrs. Ginger Johnson, age 57 of Manchester were conducted at 11:00am, Monday, December 3 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Ham officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the Johnson family was from 5pm until 9pm, Sunday, December 2 at Manchester Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson passed away Saturday morning at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Johnson was born in Grundy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late William Hughie Anderson and Mary Katherine Patterson Anderson of Hillsboro who survives. She was a homemaker and also helped in the family business. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Wes Butler. Her survivors are: Her loving husband, H. L. Johnson of Manchester; Mother- Mrs. Mary Anderson of Hillsboro; Two daughters- Susan (Corey) Lindsey of Murfreesboro, Michelle (Robert) Trussell of Hillsboro; Step Daughter- Sharon (Sam) Butler of Christiana; Step Son-Michael Lee (Kay) Johnson of Manchester; 3 sisters- Janey (Art) Laney of Hillsboro, Jackie Honea of Manchester, Linda Cox of Hillsboro, 2 brothers- Joe Allen Anderson of Hillsboro, James Anderson of Manchester; 9 grandchildren- Matthew Hodges, Tanner Trussell, Jacob Trussell, Dillon Johnson, Mikayla Johnson, Brayden Johnson, Cole Butler, Chad Butler and Ben Lindsey. Ethel V. Patrick, 67
Ethel V. Patrick, age 67, of Manchester, passed away on November 29, 2012 at her residence. Memorial services were held on December 2, 2012. Ms. Patrick was born in Beechgrove, TN, the daughter of the late James Stanley and Sarah Elizabeth Bingham Majors. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Ms. Patrick was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Moody, Jr.; a daughter, Loretta Moody, who died at birth; and one brother, James Stanley Majors, Jr. She is survived by her fiancé, Jim Coffelt of Manchester; one daughter, Tammy McKinney of Manchester; four brothers, Tommy Majors and Larry Majors of Smithville, David Majors of Beechgrove, and Billy Majors of the Noah Community; three sisters, Ann Gibbons of Manchester, Betty Wilson of McMinnville, and Jessie Cigger of Shelbyville; and six grandchildren, Marissa McKinney, Cody Moody, Josh and Tiffany Moody, David McKinney, Jr., and Tallie Moody. Funeral services for Mr. David William Moore, age 75 of Beechgrove were conducted at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Junior Stephens officiating. Burial followed in the Gnat Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the Moore family will be from 4pm until 9pm, Friday, November 30, at the Manchester Funeral Home. Mr. Moore passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Moore was born in Missouri the son of the late Wilson David Moore and Hazel Self Moore of Oak Ridge, Missouri who survives. He was a lifelong carpenter and enjoyed NASCAR racing. In his earlier years, Mr. Moore was active in car racing. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Moore and by a sister, Velma Couch. His survivors are: His loving wife- Mrs. Faye Stubblefield Moore of Beechgrove; Mother- Mrs. Hazel Self Moore of Oak Ridge, Missouri; 2 daughters- Donna Moore of Athens, Alabama, Dawn Moore of Jackson, Tennessee; 2 sisters- Dorothy Couch of Kirkwood, Missouri, Viola Robinson of Hermitage, Missouri; 1 brother- Curtis Moore of Missouri

William Henry Dillard, 87
Funeral services for Mr. Shelton Mason, age 86, of Beechgrove, will be conducted Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Matthew Mason, grandson of Mr. Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Mason passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in Murfreesboro. He was born April 10, 1926 in Beechgrove, Tennessee the son of the late William Ewing Mason and Jesse Junia Shelton Mason. Mr. Mason enjoyed farming and mechanic work throughout his life. He also enjoyed singing old gospel hymns and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Beechgrove. Mr. Mason is a United States Navy veteran having served his country during World War II. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Nell Ovena Messick Mason, who passed away November 21, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Philip Mason of Beechgrove; Lyle Mason and wife, Mona also of Beechgrove; six grandchildren, Monica Mason Donahue and husband, Jason; Matt Mason and wife, Rachel; Sean Mason and wife, Ashley; Sawyer Mason; Shelby Mason and Carlyn Mason; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Katelyn and Sarah Beth Donahue; Kaylee Mason; Addison and Ainsley Mason. Also surviving is one brother, Allen Mason and wife, Myra of Murfreesboro and two sisters; Iva Rose of Beechgrove and Velma and Dorris Davis of Noah Community and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Wynnette Elizabeth York Gross, age 86, of the Hubbard’s Cove Community of Grundy County were conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Wesley’s Chapel Methodist Church with Dr. Dean Northcutt, Bro. Clayton Jones, and Bro. Jess Tenpenny officiating. Burial followed in the Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family was from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, November 30 at Manchester Funeral Home. The body lied in state at the church, beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday. Mrs. Gross passed away on Wednesday, November 28, at the home of her son in Morrison. Mrs. Gross was born in Morrison, TN, the daughter of the late Joe York and Mary Belle Duncan York. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and gardening and was a longtime member of the Wesley’s Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Gross, a brother, Lavern York, who was killed in the Korean conflict, and a step-brother, Jess Tenpenny. She is survived by her son, Alan (Pam) Gross of Morrison; grandson, Brad (Donna) Gross and their children, Kelsey, Brady, and Shelbe, of McMinnville; granddaughter, Kresta Jacobs and her daughters, Kaylen and Anna Kate of McMinnville; special niece, Shirley Aughingaugh; special nephew, Jess Tenpenny, Jr.; and several other nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including special caretakers, Valerie, Charlotte, Monica, Faye, and the staff of Aseracare Hospice. Charles Beverly “Charlie” Jett, 77
Jett, Charles Beverly “Charlie”, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 77. A memorial service for Mr. Jett was held on Saturday, December 1st, 2012, at 10:00am in Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Allison officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, TN. Jean, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Beech Grove, Tennessee to Paul and Louise Mason. She served in the US Armed Forces following the Korean War. It was in the Army where she met and eventually married Ted Bryant. Marriage with Ted led her to Tacoma, WA.; Seattle, WA., and then Portland, OR, where she spent her life from 1972 until her death. When Jean was not chasing five kids from school to plays to games she worked at Sunset High School and Portland Community College. She loved birthdays and Christmas where her generosity, sense of humor and fun loving nature were on display for all. Jean was a busy lady, she loved her time with the Red Hat organization, she treasured her monthly breakfasts with retired Sunset faculty and staff and looked forward to her weekly meetings with TOPS. She is survived by her daughter Kelly of Central Point, OR and grandchildren Michael and wife Julie of Chicago, IL; Megan of Seattle, WA and Katherine of Spokane WA; daughter, Kerry and partner Dan of Portland OR; daughter Kathy of Portland OR; and son Kyle and wife, Mary Lou, of Portland, OR and granddaughter Krista Jean of Hillsboro OR and Jean’s dog Trudy. Funeral services for Kenneth Cecil Burks, age 73 of Manchester were conducted at 2pm, Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clayton Jones officiating. Mr. Burks passed away Thursday afternoon at the Medical Center of Manchester. Mr. Burks was born in Coffee County, Tennessee the son of the late Ed and Connie Burks. He was a Superintendent at Sain Construction Company and was of the Baptist Faith. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Reed Burks who died in 2010, and by a son Danny Burks who died earlier this year. Mr. Roy Thomas Gilbert, age 71, of Manchester, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012. Memorial services were held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel at 7p.m.with Brother Bennie Benjamin officiating. Visitation with the family began at 5p.m. until time of service. Mr. Gilbert was born on February 22, 1941, to the late Reed Gilbert and Cleo Carroll Gilbert in Manchester, TN, and was in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He was employed as a truck driver. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his son John Thomas Gilbert of Manchester, sister, Frances Armitage and brother Reed Gilbert, both of Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilbert is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Gilbert.
