SMYRNA- The Coffee County Central High School Red Raiders and Lady Raiders battled against powerful Smyrna teams Friday night, but both fell just short of victory. Smyrna edged the Lady Raiders 43-40, and the Red Raiders lost 57-50.
Both contests were competitive into the fourth period. The Coffee County girls led 13-10 at the end of the first period, but a five-point second quarter for the Lady Raiders left the Bulldogs up 20-18 by the half. Going into the
final period, Smyrna was up by one, and managed to keep Coffee County at bay till the buzzer.

Katie Reid led Coffee County scorers with 9 points on three 3-point shots. Sophomore Sara Brown added 8 with extended play from the bench.
In the boys’ game, Lance Crismond led all scorers with 23. Brother Lucas Crismond was close behind with 17.
Like the Lady Raiders, the men held the lead early in the game but were eventually overpowered by a quick, athletic Bulldogs team.
Coffee County basketballers play again Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Tullahoma.
