David Scott, 72
David Scott of Manchester passed away on Jan. 9, 2013 at Horizon Health and Rehab Center. He was 72. He is survived by his son, Paul Scott of England; extended family and caregivers, Geraldine and Carmin Tomlin of Manchester. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. No visitation is planned. Funeral services for Mr. Luther Barbar Dotson, Jr., age 78, of Manchester, were conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. L.E. Butler officiating. Burial followed in Blanton Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Dotson passed away Wednesday evening at Medical Center of Manchester. Mr. Dotson was born in Rossville, GA, the son of the late Luther Barbar and Frances Green Dotson, Sr. He was retired from PCA in Manchester. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and attended the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Ann Dotson; one son, Luther “Luke” Dotson; four brothers, Lamar, Willie, Victor, and Billy Dotson; and one sister, Barbara Barrier. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Dotson of Manchester; one brother, Jack Dotson; one sister, Betty DeVriese; four daughters, Phayon Rogers, Suzanne (Darrell) Christian, Patty (Michael) Thompson, and Tina (Jesse) Bailey, all of Manchester; one son, Joey (Brandy) Ricco of Fayetteville, TN; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. WORLEY, John Edward, age 75 of Estill Springs, Tennessee, passed away on January 11, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Worley had served as Plant Superintendent with the Rock-Tenn Company in Tullahoma for many years before his retirement. He was born in the Call Community of Coffee County, TN to his parents, the late William Hershel Worley and Annie Alvilda Buckner Worley. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Worley and sister, Lucille Worley. Mr. Worley will be fondly remembered as one who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved having his family around and doing things together. He was a member of the New Brick Church of Christ. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Jo Finney Worley of Estill Springs, TN; five children, Julia A. Herbert (Louis) of Dickson, TN, Helen S. Worley of Decherd, TN, Jona F. Worley of Winchester, TN, Nancy G. Kings of Cowan, TN and Angelia K. Darrell Higgins, 39
Darrell Higgins, 39, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Stones River Hospital. Funeral services was held Saturday, Jan. 12 with Bro. Charles Williams, Bro. Nicky Nichols and Bro. Joey Ferrell officiating. Interment was at Higgins Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy, Tim, Ted and Clint Higgins; Jesse and Brady Cunningham; Harold, Jason and Blake Douglas. Darrell was born in Rutherford County but lived in Cannon County all of his life. He was a member of the Cannon County Rook Club and the Church of Christ. He loved life, his family and his friends. Everyone who knew him loved him and he loved them. He was always laughing and kidding with everyone. He is survived by two sisters: Dena (Harold) Douglas of Woodbury and Darla (Jesse) Cunningham of Milton; grandmothers Lou Davis Higgins and Maymie Williams, both of Woodbory; nephews and niece Jason and Black Douglas, Brady and Briley Cunningham; uncles and aunts Jimmy and Connie Higgins, Glenn and Judy Higgins, Steve and Karen Higgins, Adron and Billie Williams, all of Woodbury. Eva Neil Farrar Turner, 91
TURNER, Eva Nell Farrar, age 91, passed away on January 10, 2013, after a long illness. Mrs. Turner was born on March 10, 1921, in Manchester, TN, to her parents, the late Emit Farrar, Sr. and Mary Hickerson Farrar. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Turner, her brothers, John Willard Farrar and Emit Farrar, Jr., and her sisters, Salone Freeze, Stella Crouch and Mabel Jarrell. She is survived by her daughter, Johnnie Turner, and son, Keith (Lisa) Turner, both of Manchester, TN, and a sister, Wilda Mae Harrell of Winchester, TN, along with many nieces and nephews. Eva Nell was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Visitation was on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service was conducted on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Hart officiating. Sparacino Jr., John , age 76 of Tullahoma, Tn. passed away January 7, 2013 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Memorial services with brother Jack Hice officiating were held at the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel. The burial service was held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following the service.

TURNER, Willie Blanche Sellars, age 95 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on January 10, 2013 at the Manchester Health Care Center. She was born in Warren County, TN to her parents, the late Oscar Sellars and Cleo Womack Sellars. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Turner; sister, Emma Lou Rainey and brothers, Clarence Sellars, Ed Sellars, Max Sellars, Ned Sellars and Ray Sellars. Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons, Larry A. Turner and his wife Glenda of Manchester, TN and Terry W. Turner and his wife Suzanne of Manchester, TN; daughter, Carol T. Jennings and her husband Jerry of Freeport, FL; sister, Nell Sellars Walker; seven grandchildren, Susan Baldwin, Brian Turner, Jeff Turner, Shay Turner, Tessa Moore and Chelsey Lynn all of Manchester, TN and Josh Turner of Victoria, TX; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Eddie K. Turner, 70
TURNER, Eddie K., age 70 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on January 11, 2013. He was a retired Machinist with the Virginia Electric & Power Company and was a United States Army Veteran. Eddie was born in Hillsboro, TN to his parents, the late Edison Turner and Violet May Love Turner. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Clay. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed studying history and was interested in restoring old cars. Eddie is survived by three sisters, Sue Williams (James) of East Lansing, MI, Carolyn Nessen (Leroy) of Nashville, TN and Judy Crosslin (Bob) of Bell Buckle, TN; one brother, Dennis Turner (Barbara) of St. Leonard, Maryland; and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Elder Chris Anderson officiating. McAlister, Jr., 87
Funeral services for Mr. C.A. “Bud” McAlister, Jr., age 87, of Manchester were conducted Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Manchester with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Naval Military Honors. Visitation was held Saturday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mr. McAlister passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was born September 5, 1925 in Knoxville, Tennessee the son of the late Charles Abram McAlister, Sr., and Ruth Dimple Miller McAlister. Upon finishing school, Bud entered the United States Navy on December 27, 1943 and achieved the rank of Radioman Second Class. He served during WWII on the USS LSM 117 and received the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on May 10, 1946 and returned home to Knoxville where he met his soon to be bride, Mary Jane Smith. The two courted from May until October and married on October 12, 1946. In the early 1950’s the family moved to Manchester, where Bud was employed at ARO, now AEDC. He retired in 1988 after 33 years of service as Supervisor of Communications. In earlier years, Bud was instrumental in starting Little League Baseball in Manchester and served on the Manchester City School Board for over 10 years. He was the last surviving Charter Member of the Manchester Lion’s Club. Bud enjoyed riding his bicycle, bowling, working on his computer, watching UT Football and the Lady Vols and most of all spending time with is grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had a gift for woodworking having made several special items such as a cradle and quilt racks for his family. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for 59 years. Bud will be dearly missed by all who have known him and his smile. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jane Smith McAlister of Manchester; four daughters, Teresa Lynn McAlister Brown and husband, Leonard of Hendersonville, TN; Susan McAlister Jernigan and husband, Mike of Tullahoma, TN; Robin McAlister Shofner and husband, Jack of Manchester; and Anita McAlister Callaway and husband, Mike of St. Simons Island, GA; twelve grandchildren, Rob, Chad and Ryan Clayton, Kell Jernigan, Tracey Dimon, Kristen Fishback, Camille Hatfield, Whit Shofner, Justin Callaway, Kimberly Rodenberg, Courtney Callaway and Allie Royal; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Catherine Galyon of Knoxville, TN and a brother, Donald G. McAlister of Oak Ridge, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
