Harris stops CCMS in district tournament
Harris Middle School eliminated both Coffee County Middle School varsity basketball teams Thursday as the Eagles topped the Raiders 40-31 in their first round and the Eaglettes defeated the Lady Raiders 37-23 in their second.

The Coffee County boys led 20-15 in the half but were unable to hold the lead in the final two periods.
Scoring for the CCMS boys were Grant Sadler (9), Garrett Eldridge (7), Garrett Booth (6), Jaden Chumley (4), Grey Riddle (3) and Alontae Taylor (2)
Jamal Harden led the Eagles in scoring with 23, including 12 consecutive free-throws.
Savannah Quick led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 11, including three 3-pointers. Also scoring for the girls were Kaylee Skipper (6), Tyana Fenton (2), Al’Keiah Martin (2), and Holli Smithson (1). Leading the Eaglettes in scoring were Jenna Holt (13) and Romny Felts (8).
CCMS athletic director Kyle Harris said it’s tough to see the season come to an end and to watch eighth graders move on.
“I’m extremely proud of them,” Harris said. “It’s really been good being able to watch them play this season.”
The Central Tennessee Conference Tournament was played this year at Coffee County Middle School.
