Tucker, Janice Marie, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, January 21st, 2013 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma at the age of 65. Mrs. Tucker was born in Manchester to the late Robert and Ora Rigney Brandon. During her life, Mrs. Tucker worked as seamstress for Batesville Casket and was member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane. She enjoyed making jewelry, loved crafts, and was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tucker is survived by her husband, Roger Tucker of Tullahoma; three daughters, Jennifer Johnson and husband Gary, Sheila Jones and husband Charlie and Melissa Hall and husband Clint all of Tullahoma; one step-daughter, Stephanie Phillips of Manchester; one step-son, Marty Scott and wife Bonnie of Tullahoma; one sister, Joyce Trail and husband Vergil; three brothers, Robert Brandon and wife Treva, Charles Brandon, and James Brandon and wife Virginia all of Manchester; twelve grandchildren, Machelle VanReenen, Kristin Hunzicker, Brandon Johnson, Katie Jones, Scott Jones, Loren Hall, Shelby Hall, Logan Hall, Kelley Phillips, Shauna Phillips, Renee Scott, and Trey Scott; and two great grandchildren, Peyton VanReenan and Maddie Scott. Visitation for Mrs. Tucker was held Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 from 5:00-9:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral service Thursday, January 24th, 2013 at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane at 1:00pm with Bro. Eveline Josiane Brigand Bell, 75
Funeral services for Mrs. Eveline Josiane Brigand Bell, age 75, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Kidder officiating. Burial will follow in Hurricane Cemetery in Moore County, TN. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bell passed away at her home on Sunday afternoon. Eveline Josiane Brigand Bell was born June 11, 1937 in Issoudun France to Vincent Andre and Helene Madeleine Brigand. Eveline moved to the Manchester, TN area in 1974 where she remained until she passed away at her home on January 27, 2013. Frenchie, as she was called by her co-workers, worked for Sun Drop Bottling for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, James Franklin Bell, one son, Jeffery Lynn Bell, and a grandson, Jay Chris Bell. Her survivors include four sons; James (Sherri) Bell of Manchester, John Bell of Manchester, Jerry (Ginny) Bell of Summitville, and Joel (Jessica) Bell of Hillsboro; Two daughters, Helene (Michael) Finchum of Morrison and Marline (Mike) Griffin of Manchester; Two Sisters In Laws, Joyce Hart of Manchester, and Wanda Mitchell of Tampa, Florida; One brother in Law, Roger (Juanita) Bell of Manchester and nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a number of special friends including Tony Akers, Tom Baker, Helen Avans Van Sande, Dean Anderson, and Belinda Dill. BRUMFIELD, Betty Jane Stevens, age 89, of Manchester, TN passed away January 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ray Brumfield and her parents, Daisy & Wirt Stevens. She is survived by her children, Susan (Bill) Pauley, Steven, & Jane (Ray) Marcrom, loving brother, Robert (Vicki) Stevens, Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Kelly (Ritchie) Pickens, Tim (Joie) Pauley, Kerri (Chad) Edwards, Laura (Lee) Camp, Lisa Brumfield, Carrie Brumfield, Catherine (Pete) Nelson, Sarah (Joe) McKamey, Samuel (Sarah Ann) Marcrom; 11 great-grandchildren. NORTON, Mevolene, age 77 of Manchester, TN , passed away on January 25, 2013 at the Kindred Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Norton was born in Manchester, TN to her parents, the late Homer Alexander Cooper and Clemmie Ora Davis Cooper and was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eldridge Norton and daughter, Beverly Ann Turngren. She enjoyed watching UT football & basketball and playing basketball in her earlier years, but her greatest pleasure was to put love, laughter and happiness in other people’s hearts. She attended the Gnat Hill Church of Christ. Ray Rice, Sr, age 92, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville. Mr. Rice was born in Ripley, TN to the late Jesse Clinton Rice and Viola Hancock Rice and resident of Murfreesboro before moving to Fayetteville. He was a veteran of the US Navy and Army, a member of Beechgrove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, attended Gum Springs Baptist Church in Flintville and past Superintendent with Stewart Air Base. Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie F. Rice; granddaughters, Melissa Ashby and Leslie Rice; great grandsons, Treet Ashby and Tyler Allen Short. A Memorial Service was also conducted on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tullahoma at 3:00 PM with Pastor Alex Hoffner officiating. Mr. Ketcham passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN. Al was born August 21, 1919 in Locust Valley, New York the son of the late Charles A. Ketcham and Hilda Johnson Ketcham. He spent most all of his adult life in New York, a fact that he was very proud of. When asked where he was from, he would often stretch out his arm and demonstrate the numerous locations he and his wife, Muriel had visited and lived. Since her death in July 2009, whenever he spoke of his loving bride, Muriel, he would always say “60 years, 10 months, 10 days, and the love story continues”. If you had the opportunity to meet Al, at some point, he would try to teach you his famous “train whistle”; however, very few accomplished this and certainly none like Al. In earlier years, he was an avid bowler, cabinet maker and at one point, a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed playing dominos and participating in the handbell choir at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a member for over 15 years. In addition to his parents and his wife, Muriel Alice Ketcham, he is preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Blessin. Survivors include two daughters, Elise Farris and husband, Herman of Manchester; and Elaine Ketcham Caltrider and husband, Lou of Apex, NC; 5 grandchildren, Jason Laxson and wife, Tiffany; Becky Shelton and husband, Glenn; Karen Gold and husband, Phil; Eric Horton and wife, Mojan and Bryan Horton and wife, Lindsay; nine great-grandchildren; Kristen Shelton; Alexandria Shelton; Emily Shelton; Brandy Gold; Hunter Gold; Kamyar Horton; Lily Laxson; Neysan Horton and Edward Horton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Mrs. Duke was born in Coffee County, TN to her parents, the late Carroll Farris Shelton and Carrie Virginia Anderson Shelton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Duke; sisters, Beatrice Duke, Dorothy Duke and Jean Wise; brothers, Sterling Shelton, Stanley Shelton, Raymond Shelton and Porter Shelton. Funeral Services for Mr. Gary C. Mercer, age 68 of Manchester, Tennessee were conducted Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mark Catholic Church with Father Stephen Klasek officiating. Gary passed from this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Manchester, Tennessee. Gary was born September 11, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of the late Bev Mercer and Frances Miller. He was a devoted Catholic his entire life. Gary was a giving and generous man who spent much of his life caring for others. He was a grizzly bear on the outside but a teddy bear on inside. The most important thing in his life was his family. He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam era. In addition to his parents, he was greeted in heaven by his step-father, John Miller, two sisters, Shirley Cobb and Beverly Taylor, two brothers, Bud Mercer and Don Mercer. Gary is survived by his two sisters, Sally Bishop and husband, Bill of Atlanta, Georgia; and Sandy Shasteen and husband, Ed of Winchester, TN; eight nieces, nine nephews, and numerous great nieces, great nephews, and extended family. Joann Tucker Hill, age 63, of Pelham, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, January 25, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Bernice Brock Tucker. She was employed for many years as a supervisor at Oak Tech Glove. Ms. Joann was a Christian. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lena Faye Prewitt and brother, Glenn Tucker. She is survived by her Companion, Wilson Hill of Pelham, daughters; Sheila (Jerry) Walls of Decherd, Larissa (Tim) McCullough of Winchester, sons; Richard (Michelle) Hill and Eric (Amy) Hill all of Manchester. Novella Joyce Zinkon, 84, of Haines City, FL died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center from heart failure. She was born September 9, 1928 in Newcomerstown, OH, to Edgar and Clara (French) Dennis. In addition to Florida and Ohio she has also lived in Northville, Michigan and Manchester, Tennessee. She was employed with the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, was an avid golfer and 4 time Club Champion, member of the Eastern Stars White Shrine, was the Beta Sigma Phi “Girl of the Year” and “Miss Sweetheart”, Runner-up of the Coshocton, OH “Miss Sesquicentennial” in 1953 and was Methodist by faith. She had many friends and will be remembered for her golf, personality and funny “isms”, jokes, and beautiful penmanship. Mrs. Zinkon was predeceased by her parents; husband of 45 years Dr. Donald L. Zinkon, D.O.; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son Dennis Zinkon of Haines City and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family. Graveside services for Mr. John H. Patterson, age 66 of Manchester were conducted Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Mr. Patterson passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Medical Center of Manchester in Manchester TN. He was born September 12, 1946 in Cherokee, NC the son of the late Johnny Hillard Patterson, Sr., and Naomi Amburn Patterson. John was self-employed as a certified crop advisor who enjoyed working a typical farmers schedule and socializing with his many colleagues and friends. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He and his wife, Sandra enjoyed many trips traveling throughout the Caribbean. John was a decorated United States Marine Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from active duty February 28, 1969 with the rank of Lieutenant Corporal. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra H. Patterson of Manchester; two children, Dean Hatfield Patterson of Manchester; and Amy Eppes and husband Jimmy of Manchester; four grandchildren Erica Patterson, Austin Patterson, Jamison Eppes, and Ashtyn Eppes.
