Boyd, Troy Wayne, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 59. Timothy Mitchell Byrom passed away February 2, 2013. He lived in Tullahoma. He is survived by his mother Iota Byrom; his wife Eva Byrom; one daughter Alicia (Willie) Harris; one brother Danny Byrom. His father, John Walter Byrom, Sr. preceded him in death. Arrangements have not been set.

Elliott, Joann, of Manchester, passed this life on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at Manchester Health Care Center at the age of 71. Betty A. Grosch, 69
GROSCH, Betty A., age 69, passed into Eternal Rest on January 29, 2013 at her home in Hillsboro, TN with her loving family by her side. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Betty was born in Manchester, TN to her parents, the late Jimmie Lee Harrell and Rena Morgan Harrell. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn Thomas and Lucy Steele; and brothers, Leon Harrell, Paul Harrell, Bobby Harrell, Billy Harrell and Truman Harrell. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale O. Grosch of Hillsboro, TN; sons, Jeffrey Bennett, Timothy Grosch and Zachary Grosch (Sabrina) all of Hillsboro, TN; sister, Selene Price of Tullahoma, TN; five grandchildren, Josh Bennett, Peyton Grosch, Alexandria Sartain, Dalen Grosch and Kayden Grosch; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitations were on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 5 – 8 pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester and on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 1 – 2 p.m. at the West End Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN with the Funeral Service following at 2 p.m. with Brother Leon Williams and Brother Doyle Sherrill officiating. Wendell Haggard, 76
Funeral services for Mr. Wendell Haggard, age 76, of Manchester were conducted Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Mr. Fred Kellers and Pastor Linda Rex officiating. Interment followed at Ragsdale Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Haggard passed away Tuesday at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 17, 1936 in the Asbury community of Coffee County, the son of the late William Adolphus Haggard and Mary Della Farrar Haggard. He married the love of his life, Linda Taylor September 21, 1962. Wendell greatly enjoyed working as a machinist with Cubic Transportation Systems where he was employed for over 18 years. He retired in April of 2005. He was a talented person who enjoyed making things with his hands. Whether working with wood or metal, he was known to have crafted many special items such as hand carved wood bowls. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his wife and friends. Wendell was a member of Grace Communion International and a United States Army veteran. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Woodrow, Raymond and Leo Haggard. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Taylor Haggard of Manchester; four children, Eric Haggard of Manchester; Tim Haggard and wife, Debbie of Murfreesboro; David Haggard of Murfreesboro; “Dee Dee” Della Haggard Bittner and husband, Andrew of Antioch, TN; three granddaughters, Autumn, Lynden and Lily Haggard and two grandsons, Wesley Haggard and Chase Bittner. Also surviving are three sisters, Geraldean Elrod and Ruth Peek of Manchester and Jean Brown of Elkhart, IN; sisters-in-law, Edith Haggard of Manchester and Charlotte Haggard of Elkhart, IN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Mr. Robert Gafford Harden, age 66 of Shelbyville passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late James P. Harden and Lottie Norton Harden. He is survived by his wife Connie Harden; four children: Lisa Hudson, Kevin Eady, Jeff Eady and Olivia Harden all of Shelbyville; two brothers: James and Dale Harden of Manchester; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Burial was in Willow Mount Cemetery.
Elsie “Marie” Hicks, 66
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie “Marie” Hicks, age 66, of Bradyville, TN were conducted Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Adcock officiating. Interment followed at Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Hicks passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born December 20, 1946 in Huntland, Tennessee the daughter of the late Emmitt Shockley and Hallie Walling Shockley. Marie worked as a seamstress and in the food industry until retirement three years ago. She loved spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren grow up and loving on her beloved dog, Julie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Shockley and her step-grandson Will Hicks. Survivors include her loving husband, Eugene C. Hicks of Bradyville; one son, George Luttrell, Jr., of Manchester; two step-sons, Terry Hicks of Lynchburg; Greg Hicks and wife, Penny of Baxter, TN; three step-daughters, Amy Hicks of Manchester; Tammy Adams and husband, David of Lynchburg; and Valerie Cawthorn and husband, Archie of Manchester; three grandchildren, Cody (Jaslyn) Luttrell, Brooke Luttrell and Cayli Luttrell, all of Lynchburg; and 5 step-grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly) Cordle; Casey and Jake Cooper; Douglas and Stewart Hicks; three nephews and six nieces. Mr. Mahaffa passed away on Thursday at Medical Center of Manchester. Mr. Mahaffa was born in Manchester, TN, the son of the late J.C. Mahaffa and the late Mary Margrette Keele. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Some of his hobbies included old cars, hauling junk, hot rods, and playing cards with Rook being his favorite. He is survived by one daughter, Julie (Steve) Cobb of Tullahoma; one brother, Rayford (Yvonne) Mahaffa of Cannon County; one sister, Treva (Doug) Bundy of Manchester; one grandchild, Ciera Ballinger; one great grandchild, Kennedy Skye; special uncle, Mervin Elam; and several nieces and nephews. McMILLEN, Mary Virginia Davis, age 89, passed away on January 31, 2013 at her home in Manchester, TN with her family by her side. She was born in Trade, Alabama to her parents, the late Theron Davis and Minnie Kilpatrick Davis and was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Frank McMillen in 2012; son, Gary Keith McMillen; and brother, Bill Davis. Mrs. McMillen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila A. Pennington of Manchester, TN and Kerry R. Duke and her husband Eddie of Manchester, TN; son, Grady S. McMillen of Dickson, TN; sister, Myrl Waldrep; five grandchildren, Heather Pennington, Hannah Pennington, Dru Talley, Peyton Talley and Grady McMillen (Lindsay); great-grandchild, Grady McMillen; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Shelton attended the Church of Christ. Eugenia Meredith Smith, 88
SMITH, Eugenia Meredith, age 88, of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at United Regional Health Center in Manchester. Mrs. Smith was born on February 24, 1924 in Coffee County Tennessee to the late Walter Pyce Meredith and Grady Hickerson Meredith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Perry Warren Smith in 2010 and her brothers Walter, Bill and Floyd Meredith, her sister Barbara Meredith Rigney and a grandson Brian Edward Schneider. Mrs. Smith attended school in Manchester before marrying her husband in 1946. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee where they lived for 48 years before moving to Manchester in 1994. Mrs. Smith retired from AIE, a Division of Vernitron Corporation. She was member of Red Hill Church of Christ in Manchester and a resident at McArthur Manor. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Ken Schneider of Clarkesville, GA; son, Perry W. Smith, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandchildren, Kara and Shane Clark of Gainesville, GA; Kevin and Ashley Smith of Mt. Juliet, TN; Kyle and Lindsey Smith of Mt. Juliet, TN; and five great grandchildren, Callie, Buddy, Austin, Lawson and Piper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Pat Meredith of Winchester, TN; Phillip and Peggy Meredith of Section, AL; her brother-in-law, Joe Rigney of Woodbury, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Mrs. Smith loved the staff at McArthur Manor and thought of them as part of her extended family. Visitation with the family was on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
