The Coffee County Central High School Red Raiders played 32 minutes of
basketball against Warren County Thursday, but the final second is what’s on the minds of Coffee County fans.

With Coffee County down 51-50 with 4.2 seconds to go, the Red Raiders were able to take the ball the distance of the court, where senior Lake Elam went in for an at-the-buzzer layup. Although Coffee County fans clearly believed the shot went up before the buzzer, the officials ruled otherwise.
The loss at White County in the first round of the District 6-AAA tournament ends the season.
Senior Lance Crismond led the Red Raiders in scoring with 22, including 13 in Coffee County’s fourth-quarter surge. Others scoring for the Red Raiders were senior Brock Ivey-Bodman (8), Elam (5), Anthony Jackson (8), Lucas Crismond (5), and Addison Carter (2).
The CHS Lady Raiders begin tournament play Saturday at 3 p.m. against White County at Sparta.
