CHS criminal justice students get MPD workout
Members of the Manchester Police Department presented information to students from the criminal justice department and the physical education department concerning the importance of physical and mental fitness.
Officers discussed the importance of maintaining good physical condition, but also on the importance of keeping their minds sharp through critical thinking and problem solving exercises.
Students were informed of the physical nature of most jobs available today in society and also the need to be able to think on their feet.
Volunteers were asked to demonstrate the fitness requirements of most law enforcement training academies and the military. These students engaged in sit ups, pushups and a drill known as twenty-one. Following the demonstration, officers answered questions posed by the students.
