CARTER-JONES, Janie Lee, age 60 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on April 6, 2013. She was born in Manchester, Tennessee to her parents, the late Billy Edward Carter and Sarah Loretta Carter who survives. She is also survived by her brothers, David “Brent” Carter (Becky) of Morrison, TN, Larry “Dean” (Janelle) Carter, Clarence “Eddie”Carter (Annie) and Johnny Ray (Maggie) Carter all of Manchester, TN and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Allen Carter; beloved aunt, Edith Farrah; paternal grandparents, Hooper & Georgia Carter and maternal grandparents, Euless Minor & Leota Minor Lafever. Visitation was on Monday evening, April 8, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service followed at 8:00 p.m. on Monday from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Pastor Sidney Parham officiating. Martin, Martha Louise, 89, of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday, March 30th, at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. Funeral service was at Kilgore Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma. KILGORE FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
Ernest Hoover Markum, 89
MARKUM, Ernest Hoover, age 89, of Morrison, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Markum, a member of the Red Hill church of Christ, was a lifelong farmer and in later years enjoyed raising and marketing vegetables at area farmers’ markets. In addition, he was employed as a salesman for Moorman Mfg. Co. and a Coffee County school bus driver. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Mr. Markum is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Flora Blair Markum, his parents James Adam and Fannie Youngblood Markum and two sisters, Dorothy Markum Ferrell and Maybelle Markum Pinkoski. Mr. Markum is survived by two daughters, Sherryl (Brent) Roberts of Manchester, TN, and Freda (Leroy) Henson of Bradyville, TN; two sons, Olen (Linda) Markum of Jacksonville, FL and Arlis (Karen) Markum of Manchester, TN; six grandchildren, Collin (Michelle) Markum, Colby (Julie) Henson, Corey (Jenny) Markum, Tara Henson, Tessa (Michael) Sexton, and Kyle Markum; three great grandsons, Cael and Caden Markum and Bryce Henson; brothers, Lonnie (Daisy) Markum of Muncie, IN and Randall (Dolas) Markum of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Beatrice (Eddie) Fletcher of Manchester, TN, brother-in-law, Franklin Eugene Ferrell of Hillsboro, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the Markum family was 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Central Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Daniel Hayes and Brother Ralph Hart officiating. Burial followed at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Freed Hardeman University, Potter Children’s Home, Mt. Dora Children’s Home in Mt. Dora, FL, the Tennessee Children’s Home or the Coffee County Manchester Public Library.

Mr. Jack Edward Trent, Sr., age 86, of Manchester, passed from this life on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Lifecare Center of Tullahoma, TN. Private family services will be conducted. Mr. Trent was born in Knoxville, TN, the son of the late Jesse Lee and Willie Ruth Dayberry Trent. He was a retired engineer with the U.S. Government and the State of Alaska. He served his country in the United States Marines during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trent was also preceded in death by a son, David Trent; a daughter, Cathy Stewart; one brother, Raymond Trent; and one sister, Dolores Childress. He is survived by two sons, Jack Trent, Jr. of Manchester and Eric Trent of Texas; three daughters, Diane Trent Helms of Juneau, Alaska, Celia Fowler of Estill Springs, and Carol Palmertree of Texas; and 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Peggy” Tucker, 76
TUCKER , Sharon Mae “Peggy” – of Nashville, was born on the 22nd of October 1936 to the late John Floyd Carroll, Sr. and Sophia Cornelia Hunt Carroll and passed away under the loving care of Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN on the 2nd of April 2013 at the age of 76. Preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. In life, Peggy centered herself around those that meant the most to her, her family. She is survived by and will forever be cherished by her loving husband of 57 years, Wayne Tucker, Sr.; her three children, Wayne (Angie) Tucker, Jr., Angela (Steve) Ramsey, and Melissa (Roy) Turrentine; grandchildren, Jessica Ramsey, Shaun (Kere) Ramsey, Jacob Ramsey, and JosEllen Turrentine; six precious great-grandchildren; sisters, Minnie Coons, Marlyn Tenpenny, and Anne Frisby; brother, Lyndell (Pat) Carroll; a host of nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, “Rusty.” The other loves in her life were the things that brought her joy such as reading a good book, gardening, and cooking. Her membership at Haywood Hills Baptist Church spanned 52 years and her fellowship there will be missed. A Celebration of Life service was held at her church on Friday, the 5th of April 2013 at one o’clock in the afternoon with Bro. Barry Ellis officiating. Family and friends served as Pallbearers. Interment followed at Concord Cemetery in Tullahoma, TN. The family gathered for a time of visitation and remembrance at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Thursday from four o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Alive Hospice, The Arthritis Foundation, The American Heart Association, or to Haywood Hills Baptist Church.
