Coffee County Central High School got its second baseball win of the week as the Red Raiders defeated Cumberland County 10-3 at Crossville on Tuesday.
The district win was the third this season for Coffee County, now 3-5 in District 6-AAA and 6-16 overall. The win follows another decisive, 7-2 victory over Cumberland County at Powers Field Monday.
Kyle Douglas got his team-leading third win of the season and also contributed two hits at the plate. Also leading the Red Raiders offense were Peyton Meeker with four hits.
The two district victories this week are a welcome change from last week’s 0-4 performance in which the Red Raiders managed only three runs in four outings.
In their next contest Coffee County travels to Shelbyville for a non-district game on Friday.
