a must-win game for us to meet our goals we set for the season,” said CHS coach Andy Escue. “I’m proud of the win. We didn’t play our best, but it’s good to know when we don’t play our best we can still win and win convincingly. But we think we can show a lot more than we did today.”

Ramirez’s four goals for Central High School are the most scored in a match by a single player in recent memory. Ramirez himself played down the accomplishment, however.

“It was a district game, and I had to try my best,” Ramirez said.

The home win improves the Red Raiders’ record to 5-3-2 for the year and 1-0 in District 6-AAA. On Thursday the Raiders travel to McMinnville for another district match against Warren County
