Cookeville tops CHS in soccer, 3-2
The Central High School soccer team suffered its first district loss of the season Tuesday as Cookeville edged the Red Raiders 3-2.
The Cavaliers pulled out to a 2-0 lead in the first half before
Abelen Barerra scored Coffee County’s first goal on a penalty kick. Then, with 11:23 to go in the second half, Ricky Ramirez fired in the tying goal.
Two minutes later, however, Cookeville scored what would be the winning goal.
The Red Raiders are now 6-4-2 for the year and 2-1 in District 6-AAA.
