The Coffee County Central High School Lady Raiders once again defeated Tullahoma in softball as they skinned the Wildcats 7-2 Tuesday at Tullahoma.
In their opening game of the season Coffee County defeated Tullahoma 9-1 at Manchester.
At Tullahoma CHS manged 11 hits, including three from catcher Ashlynn Young, who enjoyed her second two-double game in as many days. Pitchers Brianna Jones and Bricen Hunt also smacked doubles, and third baseman Bethany Baker went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. The Lady Raiders’ strong offensive production, however, could have produced more runs if Coffee County had not stranded 12 runners in 7 innings.
Hunt and Jones combined to strike out 13 while walking only two and allowing 3 hits and no earned runs. Hunt (12-2) picked up the win.
The Lady Raiders are now 23-7 for the year and 6-2 in District 6-AAA. They play again Friday and Saturday in the upcoming Coffee County tournament. Please check back for details and game times.
