Representatives of the Manchester Police Department recognized two Manchester City Schools students for their help in solving a recent burglary.
College Street Elementary School fifth grader Morgan Jones and her sister Madison, a seventh grader at Westwood were presented with Good Citizen Awards Monday at their respective schools.
Chief Mark Yother told Madison, “It takes a brave young lady … to step up to call and give us the information we need to make the arrest.”
The officers were able to recognize the younger Jones before her class.
“Morgan is a good citizen and a brave young lady. She helped us solve a burglary where we recovered some property and put a bad guy in time out,” he told the class.
Chief Investigator Billy Butler, who worked the case, said that the girls provided license plate number and description of a suspicious individual in their neighborhood.
He said that about $500 worth of stolen property was recovered.
