Al White Motors has begun a raffle to benefit the family of Kelly Owens, of Estill Springs, an employee who recently passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. Owens was 29 years old and leaves behind her husband and 7-month-old twin daughters.

Owens had only recently been hired to take over the position of head of Al White Motors’ accounting office and was in training.

“She was a great girl, just very smart and knowledgeable,” said general manager Mike Jernigan. “We were very excited to have her be a part of our team. She was doing a bang-up job.”

The raffle, which started last week features two prizes, with a drawing opportunity for each item. The items are an Orion cooler valued at $419 and a car DVD player valued at $300, with installation included. Tickets for the raffle are $10 each.

All proceeds will go to Kelly’s husband, Jon.

“One hundred percent of the money goes to her family – her husband and her two babies,” Jernigan said. “We’re just trying to help them with any expenses they might have.”

Raffle winners will be drawn Saturday, April 22. Tickets are available at Al White Motors. For more information, call (931) 728-2402.
