CCMS tops Warren County in football Tuesday

Playing in a day game in front of the student body Tuesday, the Coffee Comilton stanley bylineunty Middle School Red Raiders beat Warren County 24-20 at Carden-Jarrell Field.

The Raiders trailed 7-6 at halftime but contained the Warren County offense in the second half and found the holes in the defense to gain the win.

Alontae Taylor and DeAaron Rozier each made two long touchdown runs for the Raiders. Garrett Booth contributed a 40-yard kickoff return, Grey Riddle recovered his second onside kick of the year, and middle linebacker Corbin Kell was all over the field making tackles.

The Red Raiders are now 3-4 for the year. Their final game of the regular season is Tuesday, Oct. 1, at White County. The CCMS junior varsity will host White County at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
