The Central High School soccer team defeated Shelbyville 3-1 Tuesday, marking Coffee County’s first-ever win over that school.

Cody Howes scored the only goal in the first half, assisted by Chris Freimuth. Ricky Ramirez scored off a Baltazar Barrera corner kick to go up 2-0 in the second half. After allowing Shelbyville a goal, the Red Raiders went up 3-1 on a Ricky Ramirez goal from a rebounded shot taken by Abelen Barrera. Goalkeeper Josh Jones had 12 saves in the game.

In addition to being the first-ever win over Shelbyville, it was also the first win of the season for the Red Raiders (1-2-2).
