Most all of Middle Tennessee, including Coffee County, is under an enhanced threat of severe weather late Tuesday, Feb. 28 and Wednesday, March 1, according to the National Weather Service Nashville office.
According to NWS, strong to severe storms will be possible across Middle Tennessee, mainly during the morning hours Wednesday.
“Main concerns with any strong to severe thunderstorms that do develop will be damaging winds, although large hail, brief heavy downpours from the stronger thunderstorms resulting in minor localized flooding and the formation of a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out,” NWS said on its Facebook page.
According to NWS, a strong cold front will approach and move across the area, bringing with it a line of showers and storms, some of which could reach strong to severe thresholds.
Behind the system, cold air will filter into the region. High temperatures Thursday and Friday are forecast to return to the 40s and 50s.
