Trees of Christmas

The Trees of Christmas will be December 5th thru December December 11th.  This is the 41st year that Dig n Dream Garden Club has sponsored the display.  Every year has a different theme and this year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World”.  The display will be open as follows:

9 a.m.- 6 p.m., Tuesday,  Dec 6 -Friday, Dec 9

Little Squirts swimming lessons @ Manchester Recreation Complex
Dec 7 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Little Squirts is a swim lesson program designed to teach toddlers swimming and water safety skills. The program will start on Thursday, Dec. 1 and end on Tuesday, Feb. 28. No registration is required. Classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and very Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $3 per class for members of the recreation complex, and $5 for non-members.

Tullahoma Sangha @ Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, will meet every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma. The service consists of zazen (meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), and a short lesson and discussion. Newcomers are welcome and asked to call ahead for a short lesson and orientation at 5:45 p.m. before the service.

Christmas Shopping Road Trip @ Manchester Recreation Complex

Are you thinking about Christmas shopping yet? The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will be having a road trip on Thursday, Dec. 8, to shop, eat and see The Dancing Lights of Christmas. The participating group will leave the Manchester Recreation Complex at 11 a.m. The first stop will be the Cheesecake Factory at the Mall at Green Hills. The trip will continue on to Opry Mills Mall. The last stop will be at Jellystone Park to see The Dancing Lights of Christmas. Cost to participate is $20, which includes transportation and admission to The Dancing Lights of Christmas. Lunch will not be provided. Pocahontas Community Center Music Night @ Pocahontas Community Center
Dec 8 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Pocahontas Music Night is at 5 p.m. Every Thursday at the community center – 1940 Pocahontas Rd. Morrison, Tenn. It is open to all musicians and singers. All proceeds go to the center. Call Ray at 615-765-7835 for more information.

Christmas musical: Jingle in the City

Manchester First Baptist Church presents “Jingle in the City,” a Christmas musical for the entire family. Admission is free. Come experience the story of a group of orphans in 1942 in New York City, who, while searching for a home, find the real meaning of home in knowing Jesus Christ.

Senior Center Breakfast – all ages welcome @ Senior Center

The Manchester and Coffee County Senior Center hosts a $6.50 breakfast on the second Saturday of every month – all ages are welcome. All money will benefit the senior center. For more information, contact Diane at 931-723-8288

Cow patty drop fundraiser

Coffee County Central High School cheerleaders will hold a Cow Patty Drop fundraiser at 6 p.m., Dec. 10 at the Carden Jerrell Field, 865 McMinnville Highway. The football field will be divided into a grid pattern. Grid designations can be purchased for $10. The first grid hit will win 10 percent of the proceeds. Contact a cheerleader or Mindy Acklen at 723-5159 to purchase a grid ticket. Hot cocoa and homemade baked goods will be on sale at the event.
