CHS Graduation @ Carden-Jarrell Field
May 27 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Coffee County Central High School Class of 2016 commencement exercises will begin at 7 p.m. May 27 at Carden-Jarrell Field. In the case of inclement weather, ceremonies will be held in the Central High School gymnasium.
Outreach / Clothing Closet @ Duck River Baptist Ministry

Outreach Day/Clothing Closet will be 10 a.m. – noon, May 28 at Duck River Baptist Ministry Center, 1006 Oakdale St. Clothing, food, haircuts, and more. Haircuts will only be done until 12 p.m. It will be first come, first served.

Manchester’s Duck River Dance studio presents “Alice in Wonderland” for two shows, one at 11 a.m. and one at 3 p.m., May 28 at the Manchester Arts Center.

Parkpaloosa @ Manchester Recreation Center
May 28 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Manchester Recreation Department will hold the annual Parkpaloosa from 4-8 p.m., May 28 at the Manchester Rotary Park. Inflatable bounce house, slides, petting zoo open at 4 p.m. The free color run 5K and music will be at 5 p.m., followed by the corn hole tournament at 6 p.m.

Manchester Memorial Day Ceremony @ Coffee County Courthouse
May 30 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30 next to the memorial monuments on the lawn of the Coffee County Courthouse on the downtown Manchester square.

Summer reading program kickoff @ Manchester Public Library
May 31 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

The Coffee County Manchester Public Library 2016 summer reading program will begin Tuesday, May 31 with an ice cream kickoff at 10 a.m.
Reading Challenge 2016 will run May 31- July 2 for readers ages birth – 18.
Pick up your reading log for Reading Challenge 2016, then join the library staff for crafts and ice cream as it kicks-off
Register at the library today or any day during Reading Challenge 2016.
Other activities include Pajama Storytime at 7 p.m., each Monday. Wear your pjs, bring a pillow and blanket and come to the library for a bedtime story. After the story, we’ll have a craft and quiet playtime. Pajama Storytime will last approximately 30 minutes.

Tween Scene
Tween scene activities for ages nine – 15 is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Each week will offer a themed activity. No registration is necessary.
June 7 – Chocolate Tournament – Trivia, projects and games – all involving chocolate
June 14 – Dr. Jay and Sports Medicine
June 21 – Self Defense with Misti from Transformation Wellness & Martial Arts
June 28 – Zumba with Rene (a certified Zumba instructor)
July 5 – The Color Wheel. Yes, we will work with colors, and yes this includes edible icing.
July 12 – Library Golf. We’ll construct our own golf course — in the library
July 19 – Games Your Grandparents Played. We’ll have marbles, jacks and jump rope taught by the experts.
July 26 – Zentangles. If you don’t know what zentangles are, google them and come with your own ideas. We’ll have the sharpies ready.

Wednesday morning presentations will be at 10 a.m.
June 1 –Magician Dave Mitchell will be back this year for the first Wednesday morning of the summer.
June 8 – Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers. Aaaargh. It’s pirate time.
June 15 – Super Science Tennessee – Experience the wonders of science with Mr. Rich
June 22 –The Natural History Education Company of the MidSouth will bring their Mammal Program to the library this year.
June 29 – Dee Kimbrell, Interactive Storyteller Extraordinaire
July 6 – Jerry White, Magical Educational Entertainment
July 13 – A ballerina from the Nashville Ballet will read from “Cinderella” then teach us some stretches and dance steps.
July 20 – WSMV’s Snowbird will visit the library and read about penguins. Be sure to bring your camera for a photo op.
July 27 –Pet Show. People of all ages may bring their pets for our 3rd Annual Pet Show on the lawn behind the library. We hope to see some unusual pets this year. There is no limitation to the kind of pet, but all pets must be restrained. Also, bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on.
Be sure to arrive early because the parking lot fills quickly. No registration necessary.
Preschool Hour
Join Miss Virginia for stories, songs, crafts and fun. Be sure to watch Facebook for special activities at 10 a.m., Thursdays.

July 21 – The Manchester City firefighters will be here. Wear your swim suit & water shoes. After the program we’ll have a cooling surprise.
July 28 – Manchester Police Canine Officer, Dale Robertson and Raccoon will be here.
Crafty Fridays
Miss Cathi will have supplies and instructions set out for a different craft each Friday all day and for all ages. There will be two difficulty levels of crafts available but young children will require parental assistance. No registration necessary
Family Saturdays
Each Saturday there will be an unstructured activity at the library for families to participate in together. Plus on Saturday, June 25, we will hike at Old Stone Fort.
June 4 – all day – It’s Lego Day. The Legos will be available for you to build your own designs.
June 11 – all day – Marble Racing. We’ll have the tracks set up and the marbles ready. Just who is the fastest? If you prefer engineering, you may work on the library paper roller coaster but children under 12 will require supervision and assistance.
June 18 – all day – 100 Cup Challenge. We have several sets of cups so stop by the library and see who can build the tallest structure in 2 minutes
June 25 – at 10 a.m. the library staff will join park rangers for a guided Hike through Prehistory tour at Old Stone Fort.
Pizza Party
To celebrate reading achievements the library will hold a pizza party for Reading Challenge 2016 on at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 9, followed by outdoor activities. You may bring squirt guns this year. A coupon will be given to each child participating in “Reading Challenge 2016”. This coupon will be required to attend this party.

Lady Raider basketball camp @ 100 Red Raider Drive Manchester, TN
May 31 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

The Coffee County Lady Raider basketball team will be hosting a basketball clinic beginning on Tuesday at the Joe Frank Patch Gym. The camp will run from noon to 3 p.m.Tuesday thru Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. The camp is open for girls in grades 1 thru 8 and will be taught by the Lady Raider coaching staff and players. Cost for the camp is $50 and campers will receive a free camp t-shirt and a free basketball. Campers need to be at the gym no later than 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to get registered.
