USDA Commodities @ Ada Wright Center

USDA commodities will be distributed from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., as supplies last, Nov. 22 at the Ada Wright Center. Eligibility is based on total household income. Manchester Recreation Complex closing for Thanksgiving holiday @ Manchester Recreation Complex

The Manchester Recreation Center will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday starting at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23. It will re-open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26. Indoor pools will remain closed for maintenance until Monday, Nov. 28.

Tullahoma Sangha @ Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, will meet every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma. The service consists of zazen (meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), and a short lesson and discussion. Newcomers are welcome and asked to call ahead for a short lesson and orientation at 5:45 p.m. before the service.

Thanksgiving hike: Civil War Powder Mill

Civil War hike: Old Stone Fort will host the After Thanksgiving Hike: The Confederacy’s Lost Powder Mill from 1:30-3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, at the Old Stone Fort Archeaological Park, 732 Stone Fort Dr. Join a ranger for a guided hike and discover the forgotten history surrounding the Civil War era powder mill built at the forks of the Duck River. The hike will be approximately 2 miles and will meet at the Old Stone Fort Museum. The hike is moderate and suitable for both adults and children. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are also welcome.
