Tullahoma Sangha @ Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, will meet every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma. The service consists of zazen (meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), and a short lesson and discussion. Newcomers are welcome and asked to call ahead for a short lesson and orientation at 5:45 p.m. before the service.

Sheriff Department’s Fishing for Christmas tournament @ Barton Springs Boat Ramp

Sheriff fish tournament: Coffee County Sheriff Department’s Fishing for Christmas tournament will be held from 7 a.m.-noon, Sept.23 at Barton Springs Boat Ramp. The entry fee is $10 per person. Proceeds go to benefit needy children in the area. Trophies will be given for first-third in bass, bream, and crappie, plus a trophy for the biggest fish caught by a kid. Tickets may be purchased at the Coffee County Jail, 300 Hillsboro Blvd., or at the boat ramp. For more information, call 728-3591.

Sons of the Confederacy meeting @ Oak Restaurant

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.
