Raiderette Dance Team parents night out

The CCHS Raiderette Dance Team will hold a parents’ night out from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, July 15 at the Coffee County Raider Academy. The cost is $25 per child. We will provide dinner, and there will be games, movies, and other fun activities for the kids. This fundraiser is to help the team go to competition at Disney World.

A benefit for Richie Lusk
Jul 23 all-day

A benefit for Richie Lusk will be held July 23 at the Summitville Volunteer Fire Department, to help with his treatment following being diagnosed with cancer. A yard sale will begin at 8 a.m. later in the day will be a silent auction, bake sale and a cakewalk. Contact Gail at (931) 409-9149 for donation and more information.

“The Wizard of Oz” auditions
Jul 23 @ 10:00 am – Jul 24 @ 5:00 pm

Auditions for those 16 and younger will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., July 23. Ages 17 and older will audition 2-5 p.m., July 23. All age audition will be 2-5 p.m., July 24 and call backs will be July 25.

Those seeking the role of Dorothy will be asked to sing “Over the Rainbow.” The Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion will sing “If I Only had a Brain.”  Children will sing “We’re Off to See the Wizard” as a group.

Music can be found on iTunes and Amazon.com.

A cappella auditions will not be recognized.

Adults will read multiple parts from the script. Other roles require audition with an accompaniment track.

Performances will be Nov. 11-20 at the Manchester Arts Center.

Cancer Benefit for Daryl Welch

A cancer benefit for Daryl Welch will be held at 4 p.m., July 23 at Coffee County Central High School. A barbecue dinner will be held from 4-6 p.m., followed by an auction.
