There have been times during his nine years in Manchester, Tenn. that Kevin Greenwood has missed the food from his hometown of Portsmouth, England.

So he opened

a restaurant offering the very best England – and the rest of Europe – has to offer, and he brought it right here to Manchester, Tennessee.

“We have our own beer garden that we are very happy with,” said Greenwood.

As for the food at Bites of Europe (located at 1306 Hillsboro Blvd. in Manchester), Greenwood is shooting for authenticity – with a traditional German cook in the kitchen and different European countries featured through the week.

Pappy’s Country Cookin’, located on Skinner Flat Road , focuses on food and community.

Pappy’s lunch is $8.99, and dinner is $9.99, Tuesdays through Thursdays. Saturday and Sunday lunch is $10.99.

Friday and Saturday nights have a seafood bar.

“We have tried to make our meals affordable for the community. We have lowered the prices from what they were before [with the previous owners],” Agee said.

Prater’s was recognized as the longest active food vendor at the world-renowned Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, where Rolling Stone named the food booth the #1 top thing to do at the festival.

“We make everything from scratch,” said owner and founder Gary Prater, who has a long background in not only barbecue but in the culinary arts.

Prater’s has also been recognized by the reader’s of the Manchester Times as Manchester’s Finest BBQ.

The mission at West Main Brick Oven is simple – serve delicious food while creating an unforgettable experience.
