Shoppers lined the sidewalk down North Spring St. anxiously waiting for High Cotton to finally open its doors at is new location in the Vaughn House Saturday. For some shoppers, it took nearly three hours from start to finish for their High Cotton experience.
Owner Allison Jarrell Dotson said she estimated that between 500 and 600 people ventured through the shop doors. An advocate for shopping locally, Dotson said, “It’s important to us to see downtown Manchester come alive again, and it’s so exciting to see that happen. We are grateful to the people of Manchester, Tullahoma and surrounding communities for believing in us.”
The Square was indeed filled with people on Saturday, not only shopping at High Cotton, but supporting the other stores and restaurants on the Square as well. And though Saturday was exhausting it was exciting as well.
“We can’t thank the people of this community and surrounding communities enough for their support,” said Dotson. “We have been humbled and blessed over the last two years, but Saturday completely blew us away.”
High Cotton is located at 213 N. Spring St. in Manchester and may be reached by calling (931) 723-0011.
