With just a bit over six weeks left until the return of Old Timer’s Day, the Old Timer’s Day board has moved from a trot, to a canter, and we are now at a full gallop.
The board has received official approval to have horses in the Old Timer’s Day Parade. Anyone wanting to ride in the parade must fill out an application and provide proof of insurance. Forms will soon be available at www.manchesteroldtimersday.com.
Horses will be at the end of the parade and individuals may enter.
The Shriners have also agreed to participate. The board expects several groups from the schools, individual float entries, a breast cancer awareness float and walkers, motorcycles, antique cars, tractors and other groups to enter.
The Old Timer’s Day parade will be at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6. It will start a day of celebration that will include vendors, food, activities, contests, displays, education and musical entertainment.
