The Lady Pioneers never seriously challenged CHS. Starter Bricen Hunt pitched four hitless innings with six strikeouts and one walk before being relieved by Brianna Jones, who struck out seven and gave up one hit and no walks in three shutout innings.
As a whole Coffee County made the most of its scoring opportunities in crossing the plate eight times on only four hits and two Warren County errors. Lady Raiders hammering Warren County offensively included Kelsey Adams (1-f0r-2, 1 run, 1 RBI), Brittany Williams (1-for-4, 1 run, 2 RBIs), Ashlyn Young (1-for-4, 1 RBI) and second baseman Ginny Clayborne (1-for-2, 1 run, 1 RBI). In 20 at-bats so far this season Clayborne is now hitting .400 with a .538 on-base percentage.
The Lady Raiders are not 6-2 for the season (1-0, district). The team travels to Baylor Thursday for a 4 p.m. contest.
