Local singer Macy Tabor may only be 13 years old, but she has more experience on stage than some career singers.

Tabor has been singing since she was four. Her first performance was in Hollywood, Calif. in front of hundreds at the International Presentation of Performers (iPOP), a competition for singers, actors and models.

“I try to do my best,” Tabor said last week after a full day of school at Coffee County Middle School. “I’ve never gotten overwhelmed. I pretty much enjoy it.”

Tabor is also an accredited actress and model. She has been in short films, commercials, video series, and a couple of movies. She has performed at different locations over the past three years on different stages during the CMA festival in Nashville. She is currently an Emcee on The Nashville Spotlight which is a show that airs on Comcast Cable that features artist from different parts of the US.

Tabor is pretty casual about being in front some pretty big crowds. In fact, it’s the smaller crowds that make her most nervous.

“I do not like small crowds. If I only have one or two people listening to me – I’d rather be in front of a big crowd or by myself,” Tabor said.

Some of her upcoming shows will be close to home, however, at the Coffee County Fair and Old Timers Day. Tabor said that playing for a home crowd brings a different set of challenges.

“I know a lot of people that go to the Fair, so I feel like I have to really well. In Nashville, I’m under a lot less pressure.”

Tabor musical interests focus on country music. Her primary influences are Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Carrie Underwood.

Tabor has recorded two songs of her own and is working on some other songs.

She is very active in school and in the community. She is a cheerleader, runs track, is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, the Beta Club, and is on student council. She volunteers in Manchester and in the Nashville community. She is a spokesmodel for a makeup, skin care and hair care product line that will be launching on Sept. 18 called Confidently Ready by Josie Passantino as well. She has her first photo shoot for that Sept. 17.
