Manchester Police are searching for thieves who broke in on a man while he slept.

According to a report by Manchester Police Department Sgt. Justin Smith, at approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday morning a resident of Parker Ridge Road, Dustin Watkins, was awakened by a noise. When he got up to see what it was he encountered two males in his roommates’ bedroom. He “yelled at them” and they turned around looked at him and ran.

Watkins grabbed a stick and gave chase of the pair, according to the report. They got into a dark four door Chevrolet, possibly an Impala or Malibu. As they were attempting to drive away, Watkins struck the windshield of the car and broke it.

After they left, Watkins then returned to the residence and discovered that the thieves had taken a 55-inch flat screen television belonging to his roommate.

Police ask that anyone who sees a dark vehicle in the Manchester area with a broken windshield to please call MPD investigator Butch Stewart at 931-728-2099.
