Manchester police searching for man considered armed and extremely dangerous

Manchester Police are searching for John O’Keefe Varner. Varner is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in Manchester  on Saturday February 9.

Varner has been convicted in the past in two separate murders from the early 90s. He is a known gang member in the gang (Crips)  and is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous. He is described as a black male standing 5-feet-11-inches, weighting 225 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has a “Crips” tattoo on his arm.

Varner is believed to be in a 2006 White Ford F150 bearing Tennessee tag 706 YDC  his last known location was in Tullahoma.

Police have obtained a warrant for Varner’s arrest for criminal attempt to commit 1st degree murder.

Varner has ties to Chattanooga, Nashville and the Memphis area as well.

Anyone with information on Varner’s location should contact the Manchester Police Department at 728-2099 or 728-9555.   Investigator Stuart Colwell and Investigator Jackie Matheny Jr. are investigating this case.

Varner’s girlfriend Natalie Marcelle Smith has been arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact.
